Understanding the GEM flow

This animation illustrates how GEM manages staggered guest entry across the experience to improve throughput, particularly for experiences that require guests to complete the loop twice.

Guests first appear in the Onboarding Area, where they suit up and prepare to enter Zone Zero to begin. GEM staggers group entry into the experience so that while one group is midway through their second loop, another group can begin their first.

The flow progresses through multiple Zones, looping twice, and finally into the Offboarding Area. By controlling the pacing of each group, GEM ensures efficient use of space and minimizes wait times, even for high-capacity, looping experiences.
